Mar Cor Ministries partners with churches to provide care packages for Marine platoons serving our country in Afghanistan. This is one of the easiest (and can I say cheapest) ways to give to the troops and to say "thank you" for their service to our country. Mar Cor recommends giving items such as instant coffee, gum, microwave popcorn, canned soup, deodorant, lotion, eye drops, and miniature foam footballs.
I fit all of these items in the box and it didn't cost me a dime! These were items that I've gotten in the mail, or paid little to nothing by couponing. This is a fun way to make an impact on a soldier's life...and not only physically, but spiritually. Mar Cor encourages churches to include evangelistic literature and a personal letter of salvation testimony in the care boxes. The Marines who received care packages have been overwhelmed and spiritually impacted by these efforts. My church, Faith Baptist Church in Lebanon, Pennsylvania assembled over 200 care packages for troops! Your box of freebies could change a person's life for eternity!
