Target | 7/21/2013 - 7/27/2013

My sister is heading out to college in the fall, so we got to shop for the "fun" stuff for school! We saw that most of the dorm stuff was on sale this week, and we just got a Target flyer in the mail with great Target store coupons for dorm supplies! It looked like a great week to start stocking up!

I also recently discovered Target's mobile shopping app, Cartwheel. You click on the offers you want to use, bring your smartphone or printed Cartwheel to the store (you don't have to use the app; you can just use it from online at home), and have the cashier scan the one barcode for all the items you selected! It's a pretty easy app to maneuver and figure out. So, before our Target trip, I selected all the offers I wanted to redeem such as, 10% off dorm bedding and 10% of Schick razors. The cashier scanned the barcode from my phone, but for some reason the offers didn't come off. I took my receipt and phone over to the customer service to see if they could help me out! They were extremely friendly and helpful, and didn't know why it didn't work (I'm hoping it works in the future!!), so the Target dude from customer service graciously figured out all my Cartwheel savings manually and handed me over $8.00 in cash!! Woohoo! It's totally worth it to take the 5 min trip to customer service when you have a coupon dilemma ;)

How I Got a Fossil Purse for $1.99

I think I just experienced my deal of the year!!! I've been looking for a versatile leather cross-body purse and am a HUGE Fossil fan (I even have a Fossil pillbox, hehe), but did not want to shell out almost $200 for another purse. I recently got a new app for my phone called Poshmark where you can post items you want to sell and purchase items from other sellers. It's basically an online yard-sale! I searched for Fossil cross-body purses and found a fabulous one listed for only $20!!

I would have been pleased to pay the $20 (plus shipping costs), but I realized that if you got a friend to sign up for Poshmark, both you and the friend received a $5 credit! So...I shared the app with a bunch of my iPhone-using friends, and eventually built up $25 worth of credit in my account!! After shipping costs my total came to $26.99, so by using the credit my total came to a whopping $1.99! I don't think I could do that well again! If you're an iPhone/iPad user, check out Poshmark; it's a pretty neat concept and my first purchase experience couldn't have gone any better!

I love shopping outlet stores! Here's some recent deals I found at a Bath & Body Outlet store. I originally picked up a different bottle of the True Blue Spa lotion and had an employee come up to me with the same lotion in a slightly different bottle and told me it was 50% cheaper just because it had French lettering on it! So keep your eyes peeled for sneaky discounts like this one! Also, take advantage of the survey coupons on the bottom of receipts. $10/$30 is a decent-sized coupon, plus they don't expire!

The difference between regular retail stores and their outlet equivalence can be huge! I usually prefer shopping at outlet stores because I almost always see a drastic difference in prices!
